A-Hak B.V. initially contacted Corrosion Protection Services in August 2019 to assist them with the review, update and generation of several documents that formed part of the Cathodic Protection System Detailed Design for the Feeder 09 Humber Crossing project.
Corrosion Protection Services used their knowledge and experience of Cathodic Protection as well as specialist sub-contractors to review, update, improve and generate several technical documents that covered; Material Inspection, Installation and Testing Procedures, Installation Plans and Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Procedures.
Corrosion Protection Services ensured that all documents complied with all relevant National Grid Specifications in order to assist with the design pack passing through the G35 Appraisal process.
This project shows that Corrosion Protection Services can provide excellent technical and practical solutions to deliver these types of work with ease. In addition to these our experienced and highly skilled personnel are able to provide the highest level of support to even the most complex of projects.
The following significant obstacles where encountered.
The design documents were subject to a two-week design review period by the client, therefore any document submitted, could not be appraised until this review had been completed. The design appraisal required completing urgently as any delay in the appraisal would delay the installation of the CP system. Therefore, it was imperative that any documents submitted by Corrosion Protection Services must be of the highest quality to ensure a second two-week review period was not triggered.
